PPI's History

How do you build and grow a successful and sustainable business during turbulent economic times? Just ask Rick Byanski and Mike Burgess, who have more than eight decades of OEM experience combined. These two had a vision to provide low-cost, high-quality remanufactured electronic circuit boards, systems, and related parts to the petroleum industry. The cherry on top? Superior customer service.

In 2002 they started Petroleum Parts Inc., manufacturing electronic boards. In 2006 Byanski and Burgess acquired DurEquip, a gasoline dispensers rebuilder. By the following summer, PPI was building dispensers, something not seen since Tokheim had closed its doors several years earlier. With a team of experienced dispenser manufacturer employees, the remanufacturing operations grew, gaining the reputation as a first-class provider of reman dispensers.  

Today, their vision and effort have translated into some impressive facts:

• PPI ships 90 percent of its parts the day they were ordered.
• Our reman parts are equal to or better than OEM parts and components...
• ...and they’re more economical, earning PPI the reputation as the industry’s go-to petroleum parts supplier.

In 2008, the company expanded, entering the dispenser graphics market. PPI began by offering premium quality polycarbonate overlays for dispensers with a full range of colors for most major oil companies. By 2011, the operations had grown so large that we needed a third building, adding 12,000 square feet for graphics production.  In tandem, we added large format digital on-demand printing and finishing equipment to increase our production capacity and capability, and the graphics business quickly grew into it's own separate company, Graphics Output.

PPI is the industry's premier source of new and rebuilt/remanufactured gas pumps/dispensers and parts--not just for Tokheim, but also for Gilbarco, Wayne, and Schlumberger. Our expertise goes beyond that of a parts trader: PPI now has a three-building campus with more than 33,000 square feet of office and production facilities.
